Bones and Jones

Bones and Jones are well renowned for their unique brand of song writing and impressively tight live show. With three albums and a collaborative EP with Folk Bitch Trio to their name, the band’s output matches the frenetic energy of their live show which has seen them support notable artists including King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, The Nude Party (USA), The Murlocs, Twin Peaks (USA) and appear at festivals including Port Fairy Folk Festival, Meadow, Boogie Festival and more.

Forming during highschool in Victorian town Geelong and now based out of an old apple orchard on the Victorian surf coast/Wathaurong Country the band draws inspiration from the landscape that surrounds them and their decade long friendships within the band. Their blend of country tinged vintage rock is coupled with a contemporary energy that allows them to feel familiar without being stuck in a revivalist pigeonhole. This impressive melting pot of sounds and memorable hooks has been recognised by NME, The Guardian, Triple J and has seen the band’s second album Ginger Gold (Farm Singles) nominated for the prestigious Australian Music Prize and Victorian Music Awards.

On ‘In Blue’, Bones and Jones lean into the indie rock facet of their sound, following the fusion of folk and garage heard in their previous work. After first experimenting with drum machines and synths for the first time during the creation of single ‘In Ya Nature’, the band decided to trade their signature slide guitar for synth-tinged alt rock. Thus beginning a new era for the band, that they are thrilled to share with old and new fans alike.
