Lyrics

Man

Can I hold your hand? Face it like a man? Whether up or down? I shape into your hiding bloom Your heart is still like a cocoon You heal me back just like the moon A paper bandage in a growing gloom My skin has shades of loss My courage lacked is finally lost Now what have I got? Can I hold your hand? Face it like a man? Whether up and down? I shape into a silent dream Your heart lit up in front of me They talk of ‘man’ but you can see What bravery is without a violent streak My skin has shades of you The courage lacked I finally grew Look what you helped me do Can I hold your hand? Face it like a man? Whether up and down?

Something in the Water

High above It's you I’m thinking of Called aside For some other kind of life You are around again Some kind of innocence Takes me back to the start Only better cause we know it’s hard Don’t leave. Don’t leave Call it off. It’s selfish but I know I want You to grow with me, you breathe more easily You are around again A kind of innocence Takes me back to the start It’s better cause we know it’s hard Don’t leave. Don’t leave me There’s something in the water There’s something in the water Clouded by a deep divide You’re home with me when I arise When we look back each other’s eyes Will glow an awesome summer sky There’s something in the water There’s something in the water Don’t leave. Don’t leave Don’t leave. Don’t leave me

twentyseven

She asked me if I’d had dreams before When I was 18 and nothing more 27 is the number that I count to baby 27 is the number that I count to baby Giants in my mind are looking down Upon them I place a heavy crown 27 is the number that I count to baby 27 is the number that I count to baby I find it hard to leave the house I focus on the inside out My head is filling up with doubts More than most I need you now You taught me how again How to love myself My voice is loud again Twentyseven There is a feeling that’s holding me There is a feeling that’s holding me down 27 is the number that I count to baby 27 is the number that I count to baby I find it hard to leave the house I focus on the inside out My head is filling up with doubts More than most I need you now You taught me how again How to love myself My voice is loud again Twentyseven Stars are falling, all alone, it’s harder to pretend That an early coffin, soon forgotten, has glory still in it You taught me how again How to love myself My voice is loud again Twentyseven It’s the moment you so desperately crave Running deeper, running deeper in your veins

Comfortable

I am cold iron Rewinding To when you were near I’ll riot, deny it But this time The cut is clear Why didn’t you call me when you fell apart You know I need you like a light in the dark There’s blood’s on my side of the car Too Now you’re packed up on the inside I’m a siren ringing out in the night The end was coming but I was blind-sided My eyes flicker too Strobe lights between the news But I can’t follow you When faced with the path you’ll have to choose My eyes flicker too Let yourself sink in my brightest blue And I’ll find the head to ask Are you comfortable? Let me comfort you I am, a lion Let’s run wild Get out of here I’ll ride out, these miles To find a way To your release Why didn’t you call me when you fell apart You know I need you like a light in the dark There’s blood’s on my side of the car Too Now you’re packed up on the inside I’m a siren ringing out in the night The end was coming but I was blind-sided My eyes flicker too Strobe lights between the news I can’t follow you When faced with the path you’ll have to choose My eyes flicker too Let yourself sink in my brightest blue And I’ll find the head to ask Are you comfortable? Let me comfort you Let me comfort you Let me comfort you

My Own Mystery

You’re miles away, in another town And this space just got bigger, and now it won’t sing for me My thoughts are echoing, when they hit the ground Droplets against the concrete while I sit here so lonely My life is chaptered by the notes you leave When I played my first show, when I got played on the radio Your body’s far away, but you left some courage here for me Under the floorboards, whispering your words to me You’ve been proud recently Watching it all, watching it all While I’ve been climbing easterly Scaling the walls, follow your calls And I know that there’s a piece of me There in your garden, teach me the art of how I make my own mystery. I make my own mystery I make my own mystery. I make my own mystery I saw your excitement, right in front of me And I nurtured it’s growth, as we painted the coast gold We left the sunny days, in an island dream And why I miss it mostly, is cause I still feel next to you You’ve been proud recently Watching it all, watching it all While I’ve been climbing easterly Scaling the walls, follow your calls And I know that there’s a piece of me There in your garden, teach me the art of how I make my own mystery. I make my own mystery In the middle of the night it’s hardest Staring down a foggy path I am navigating My phone lights up with heartache I’m here without your touch and I can’t bear You’ve been proud recently Watching it all, watching it all While I’ve been climbing easterly Scaling the walls, follow your calls And I know that there’s a piece of me There in your garden, teach me the art of how I make my own mystery. I make my own mystery I make my own mystery I make my own mystery I make my own mystery Teach me the art of how I make my own mystery I make my own mystery I make my own mystery I miss you but I’m learning to be alone And I will make you proud, and I will show You how I can be everything you think I can, be A choose your own adventure or a mystery

Circles

You're just a shadow, a frame on the wall A hollow figure casting shapes by the door Your thoughts are innocent but I wanted more You gave a little but I needed your all I don't know why you didn't stay here tonight You don't call home here sharing in mine Just a short stay, a few days to a month Our bodies were intimate, your mind was lost I don’t get it, why you wouldn’t stay It’s easy love, when you don’t stay away You call me up, every other day It’s up to you Our love is going In circles again Believe me I said it Enough is not enough you don’t get it Our love is going In circles again Vacant sounds on the street as I'm clicking my jaw The soundtrack to a lonely boy I know I said that I wouldn't call But your hesitation makes me want you some more There's just some lingering doubts in my mind You're fresh on my pillow but a ghost in the night Just a short stay, drunk games, then you're gone Your body is distant, your mind a lock I don’t get it, why you wouldn’t stay It’s easy love, when you don’t stay away You call me up, every other day It’s up to you Our love is going In circles again Believe me I said it Enough is not enough you don’t get it Our love is going In circles again

Yours

Your eyes pierce right through my skin I forget about it all and the mess that we’re in With a wave of your hands, you make good from the bad But there’s an ache in your shoulders from the weight that you have There’s a feeling in the pit of my stomach It won’t go away, every night, other day When I’m out in the rain, can you call out my name? You tie me in knots, and unravel me again Lift your head Off the floor Cause the door’s Swinging loose but you’re lucky that I’m Waiting in the hall Sparks fly inside of me I want this feeling to be yours My cab rides over the bridge I forget about it all, when it’s your presence I’m in I stumbled over my words My head skips and it swerves Sounds blurring over at the touch of your words There’s a feeling in the pit of my stomach It won’t go away, every night, other day When I’m out in the rain, can you call out my name You tie me in knots and unravel me again Lift your head Off the floor Cause the door’s Swinging loose but you’re lucky that I’m Waiting in the hall Sparks fly inside of me I want this feeling to be yours Forget about the other night What you’re looking for, is here and I You are picking apart, the keys to my own heart There is something you’ve been missing from the start Lift your head Off the floor Cause the door’s Swinging loose but you’re lucky that I’m Waiting in the hall Sparks fly inside of me I want this feeling to be yours

Phoenix Friends

I see the choices in front of me Your thoughts are falling down on the ground There's a reason we connected suddenly I hear your voice now, I hear your voice now Down the stream it's currently Pulling me out deep in the rapids Our paths are built upon this honesty I hear your voice now, I hear your voice now There is something I forget That all I've left remains in my head

Bitter Leaf

I'm kicking down your love Faded like a light gone old Hanging there in empty space Out there in the hazy fog I'm not saying it's your fault But you hid it under blankets Oh baby let me go Release me from your handle, I never wanna know You used to shine so bright but you Soured at the taste of a bitter leaf Took it all out on me but I see Through you and you won't be causing me no grief, anymore You used to shine so bright but you Soured at the taste of a bitter leaf Took it all out on me but I see Through you and you won't be causing me no grief, anymore Hanging loose from the wall Strips and flakes of paint I'm tearing down your love And all the last remains I can feel the roof crash down But maybe I'm dreaming Lying on a redwood floor Eyes fixed on the ceiling, I never leave it on You used to shine so bright, but you Soured at the taste of a bitter leaf Took it all out on me but I see Through you and you won't be causing me no grief, anymore You used to shine so bright but you Soured at the taste of a bitter leaf Took it all out on me but I see Through you and you won't be causing me no grief, anymore You used to shine so bright, but you Soured at the taste of a bitter leaf Took it all out on me but I see Through you and you won't be causing me no grief, anymore You used to shine so bright, but you Soured at the taste of a bitter leaf Took it all out on me but I see Through you and you won't be causing me no grief, anymore You used to shine so bright, but you Soured at the taste of a bitter leaf Took it all out on me but I see Through you and you won't be causing me no grief, anymore You used to shine so bright, but you Soured at the taste of a bitter leaf Took it all out on me but I see Through you and you won't be causing me no grief, anymore

Horoscopes

There’s pad thai around us Thrown across the ground and A murmur of silence Stirs in his eyelids A light bulb of brilliance Gotta make you millions Filled up with helium Is that where all the genius comes from? Now he’s frowning Drooping here and drowsing A disappointed thought bubble Fills up till it bursts. Another Melody that’s painted Watercolours making Brushstrokes of mess Well is that him at his best? Lost your feel You were the one that led my path to me And now your boat is rocking on its keel You were the one that showed me light was real It was always up to me But why could I never see it? You were something I thought I needed But horoscopes ain’t real The stars are aligned now Jupiter is fine but Asked me for a cigarette I guess I should have given it For all I have taken Maybe I should wake him Up from his dream But maybe I’m misreading it Lost your feel You were the one that led my path to me And now your boat is rocking on its keel You were the one that showed me light was real It was always up to me But why could I never see it? You were something I thought I needed But horoscopes ain’t real

Holla

Add it to the pile, it’s a staple now Still the coins in the jar get put back somehow Maybe it’s better to find you’re running out Then at least it’s placed beyond all doubt But our love is what you wanna be There’s hope as long as long as you believe Climb up, the branch is breaking free Reach forward holler out to me It’s a thought that spares your feelings low A confusion that fills it up the most Try and build it back up from the ground or go Cause the space in the middle is devoid of growth But our love is what you wanna be There’s hope as long as you believe Climb up, the branch is breaking free Reach forward, holler out to me Reach forward holler out to me Reach forward holler out to me You’re not alone You’re not alone You’re not alone You’re not alone You’re not alone You’re not alone You’re not alone You’re not alone Reach forward holler out to me Reach forward holler out to me Reach forward holler out to me Reach forward holler out to me

Reticent

Purse your lips and keep them there You’re leaking secrets everywhere Brown leather, zip locked bags Careful when you’re in the crowds You’re dripping paint on the label Wipe your hands and leave the table Your eyes are riding on a wave Of bitterness and cheap champagne They’re pointing at my heart And shooting darts, that dig and weave A holy arrow splitting seams A prison vault that holds my dreams That’s pumping blood into my limbs The liquid life that carries me Well crush me all you like It won’t help you breathe When you shoot me down It doesn’t say anything ‘bout me And equally If I am reticent And I construct with eloquence Maybe I can can help you find your dreams? This isn’t just for you It’s a blessing here for me Written in the stone, it’s a lesson here for me This isn’t just for you It’s a lesson here for me Written in the stone so it’s, so it’s complete I used to hide behind a wall And chew upon the seeds Never let them grow And left them blackened in the weeds Negativity Circulate through me Choking up my conscience with a charcoal elegy Well crush me all you like It won’t help you breathe When you shoot me down It doesn’t say anything ‘bout me And equally If I am reticent And I construct with eloquence Maybe I can can help you find your dreams? This isn’t just for you It’s a lesson here for me

My Artistic Idol

I was a fussy kid But somehow you don’t remember I hated olive dip and hummus But you pretend that It never happened Avocado or salmon I spat it in the sink There’s a happy hole there in your memory For all the bad I did I was teenage angst But somehow you corrected me All your olive branches sealed in Christmas wrapping Brought to me A purpose – pens and paper Watercolour stationery Somehow you knew that all I needed Was my creativity Well I’m proud of you A mind that warped and grew A view that twists in all the right places Shines a light on all the sad faces My best friends still tell me I’m wasting Every moment apart from you A view that twists in all the right places Shines a light on all the sad faces My artistic idol unwavering I am a millennial And my life is incredible It’s hard as water the worst of times And on this rock the ocean climbs You took me here to paint the world The way you did since you were a girl You showed me how to find the colours Hidden in the sands. It’s not the surface here that matters Well I’m proud of you A mind that warped and grew A view that twists in all the right places Shines a light on all the sad faces My best friends still tell me I’m wasting Every moment apart from you A view that twists in all the right places Shines a light on all the sad faces My artistic idol unwavering

Icarus

Is it all for me? This is something like a dream Is it all for me? Is this something I believe? Is it all for me? This is something like a dream Is it all for me? I am riding on a fire Edging closer to the sun Am I one with my desire? Or will the rapid rise bring me Undone? If you ever find me Lost in my reflection Know that I will have failed you In my heart, my flesh, my blood But they can't keep us down Together we, we will climb Is it all for me? This is something like a dream Is it all for me? You are something I believe Is it all for me? This is something like a dream Is it all for me? Tacey will you marry me?
