Rises and Falls

All she was was a pretty girl, eyes a deep forest green, she heard him in the meadows, saw him in the reflection of the sea. She spoke with her father, And he forbade their wicked union, shrunk before a great warrior, so torn in her confusion. Climbing down her window, on a sunday night, while the town lay dormant, under pale moonlight. They met by the waters edge, and they crouched by the reeds, before they pushed off in his wooden boat, her head resting on his knees. As he rowed, she dreamed, Of taking the boat far away, Up and over the mountainous peaks, Of the water’s waves. She undid her bracelet, And threw it in the sea, A gift from her father, Sinking into memory. A cry! A cry! He finds the room is empty, His daughter has left, And he chases her swiftly. His leathery warrior palms, Eyes lit up like a furnace, The boat propelled into motion, as he soars along the surface. He’s gaining on them now, And his breathing bears his rage, furiously taking in air, and replacing it with flames. He reaches out a fearsome hand, and strikes upon the chest, of her young love, much to her distress. They face each other in one boat, As they drift further out to sea, Fear falls upon the young girl, The weather turns stormy. The water rises and falls, and crashes upon their heads, It throws her light body, and drowns her till she’s dead. The water rises and falls The water rises and falls The water rises and falls The water rises and falls The water rises and falls The water rises and falls The water rises and falls The water rises and falls

The Butcher

Hold me closer, hold me closer There once was a man who would fight Swords breathing fire in the night He’d go down town just to hang around And wait there with greedy delight He’d pick em all off one by one Their toes and their fingers and their thumbs He was swift as a bird, not a whimper was heard As he cut out their heart and their lungs Never would they lift their brow At the butcher with his shop up town A legitimate trade where he’d need such a blade His secret would never be found Many compliments arrived of his meat A line out the door, down the street They’d rave of the flavour amid wild behaviour, As they pushed for the last of his treats Then all the other butchers closed down Till he was the sole one in town A hundred he’d slaughtered to fill such an order Suspicion began to arouse All united in defeat His rivals began to complete The pieces of the puzzle and vowed to make rubble This evil man and his upkeep They called him in the shop the next day Told customers for what they had paid They spat and they choked and they set to turn smoke Upon him and what stood in their way But the man wouldn’t lie down and die He wielded flame for them six feet high He’d twist and he’d turn, and he’d slash and he’d burn Stained his tiles a rich crimson dye With a majestic swing from his wrist The room would be red as girls’ lips Eyes on the floor as he walked out that door And the rest of his life was bliss

Green Light

I never asked for me, To be like this and I waited for the time to eventually let me up into the world and try to meet another girl with those sky blue eyes Still somewhere out there in the empty night. Still somewhere out there in the empty night. She stood an inch below in her old green sweater nestled on my shoulder the one you still wanna see when you’re older a little bit older but I thought it wasn’t right and she left without a fight with those loving eyes somewhere out there in the lonesome night somewhere out there in the lonesome night The thing that scares me most is to end up like this let it get to the time and eventually never meet another girl i’m all alone in the world i remember her eyes she’s out there lighting up someone else’s night she’s out there lighting up someone else’s night

Knife and Spear

Her name was Akira, and she was the best At sticking pins and needles and bleeding out the flesh Of people, that, annoyed her the most In the shadow of the mountain, she was but a ghost She haunted all the village folk, they stayed in the light Shielding themselves in their cabins at night Their doors barricaded, windows shaded, ever doomed Cattle for the slaughter, waiting in their rooms She broke in a cellar, and drank all the wine And awoke to find she hadn’t been alone that night Embarrassed, Her money and blade were gone Pissed off and angry, she knew who’d done her wrong Hold me near All I wanted was your love my dear I would call for you, but you weren’t there Now I hunt you with my knife and spear He sits in the darkness, robe across his chest A smile laced with arrogance, chain on his breast It glimmers in the moonlight, disappeared when silence broke Barely seeing through the haze of cigarette smoke Ice in his tumbler, swirling in his hand Shifts in his position and turns to face the man Who caught his attention when he felt his presence A scent so familiar, a sweet vanilla essence When the man spoke, he had a beautiful tone Softly on the consonants and rounded on the o’s The figure, moved, under the light Then did he see it was Akira that night And she sliced him to pieces with a knife Hold me near All I wanted was your love my dear I would call for you, but you weren’t there Now I hunt you with my knife and spear
